CIO Super Tips

We are glad to be able to present to you the 12th Manager´s Handbook in our series, this time dedicated to providing Super Tips for the CIO.

There is no doubt that today’s CIO (Chief Information Officer) has a very difficult position. With only a few exceptions, Business is currently entirely dependant on information technology and, in addition to this, there is a clear trend of the CIO not being expected to provide “only” IT services for their organisation, but also for them to bring considerable added value to it.

Since it was set up DSM – data security management has systematically dedicated itself to many varying topics which have been, and are, the centre of a CIO’s attention. The objective for this publication is also to provide its readers with coverage of interesting and relevant issues. As opposed to the articles in our magazine, we have chosen a less traditional presentation format by using stories from the real lives of IT departments and organisations which involve situations which CIOs have experienced or, indeed, are experiencing.

The lessons that can be learnt from each story are formulated into tips, or more precisely, Super Tips. The ambitious “Super Tip” term means that the advice given is much more than just a simple tip. The team of authors have chosen subjects which they see as being key issues for today’s CIO.

But that is not all. We have also asked a representative group of CEOs, CIOs and managers from important Czech companies a series of questions related to IT issues and the role of the CIO. You can find their answers in later sections of this publication.
